Welcome to Cricket's Kids and thank you for visiting our site. We started in 1996 when our son Ron wanted to show a Nubian for his local fair and 4-H project. Our herd's foundation is based off of Us-And-Udders Fantasy our first pure bred doe. We were attracted to the regal look of the Nubian with the roman nose and long ears. We became serious about breeding and showing in 1999 with the guidance of two special friends who lead us and helped us on our way. They were Rimfire's Deb Smith and Us-And-Udders Molly Saal. Deb had a big influence in our breeding from the start with Rimfire's Gambling Mufasa and Fantasy which gave us some lovely tall and long body daughters. We do miss Deb, for her love of goats and the knowledge of them and the desire to help others.

Pheonix Pharm Tiger's Tai has had a huge impact in our breeding program. In 2003 Tai had 4 daughters complete their Championship. The Tai daughters excel in mammaries both in capacity and structure and are consistent in levelness over the topline even if dams were not. His daughters excel as well in body capacity and openess of ribbing. Tai's pedigree is heavily influenced with +*B GCH Rio Del Oro's Dandy Lion and GCH Soncare Gabriel 3xNational Champion. Amberwood Frosty Chancellor can be found 5 times as well.

We practice 'linebreeding' and use tightly bred bucks for out crossing in attempts to make breedings as predictable as genetically possible with emphasis on both type and production. To help us in evaluationg our progress, we have used DHI testing for a number of years and show at as many show as possible each year.

We own both the PUREBRED and AMERICAN'S. It became apparent to us that both were excelling in the show ring and made no difference to us if we owned Purebreds or Americans as long as they met our criteria for show and milk.

We practice a strict CAE prevention program. We test for CAE annually. We are present at each kids birth and use heat treated colostrum and pasteurized milk. Each kid receives a BO-SE shot at birth and CDT when they are disbudded.
HERD TESTED NEGATIVE FOR CAE FOR 2008

Our herd gets annual CD&T vaccinations, BO-SE and worming when needed.
